Before you connect the landscape
Previous integration projects left us with point-to-point spaghetti. What would be different?
The difference is a governed layer instead of ad-hoc wiring. Every connection runs through a documented contract with a named owner, monitoring and an error-handling policy — so the landscape has a map, not a memory. We also sequence the work: the flows causing the most manual rework or reconciliation pain are contracted first, and each move retires point-to-point links rather than adding to them.
Do we need to buy an integration platform or middleware product first?
No. The flow design, data-ownership model and governance matter far more than the product, and buying tooling first tends to hard-code today's spaghetti into a more expensive box. We design the integration architecture, then match it to middleware — commercial or open source — sized to your actual volumes, security requirements and cloud footprint across AWS, Azure and GCP.
How do you keep data consistent between CRM, ERP and everything downstream?
By deciding ownership before syncing anything. Each business entity gets one system of record; every other copy is declared and mapped. Synchronization is designed to the flow — event-driven where the business needs freshness, batch where it doesn't — and reconciliation checks run continuously so drift is detected by the platform, not discovered in a month-end report that refuses to balance.
Can you integrate systems we don't control — vendors, partners, regulators?
Yes, and that boundary is where governance earns its keep. External connections get their own secure pathway: an explicit contract at the edge, credential and access management, retry and replay behavior for the days the other side is down, and monitoring that tells you a feed failed before the business does. The third party's constraints are designed around, not wished away.
How disruptive is an integration program to day-to-day operations?
It shouldn't be disruptive at all — the systems being connected are running the business while we work. Engagements move flow by flow: existing processes keep operating, new integrations run in parallel with reconciliation proving they match, and cutover happens only when the numbers agree. Scope, timeline and budget are defined up front, with progress visible throughout via Slack, Jira and GitHub.
